Hospitality and Giving …. 12 Days of Yule

The sixth day of Yule is meant to honor the ideas of hospitality and giving – visiting and hosting friends and family.
We started the day by visiting our youngest son. He’s watching his older brother’s dog while they are visiting Hawaii with family. We brought Leige Waffle dough, a bit of bacon and his Christmas stocking (Santa didn’t know he was house sitting). We had a lovely visit and then headed home to spend time with our own dogs, watch the Dr. Who special and relax a bit.
Tonight we will host a much smaller affair than our annual Julebord – the pandemic, the growing anxiety of our large dogs with company, and the aging or many of the relatives has made a large gathering a thing of the past. Instead, we’ve taken time to visit and connect with relatives to enjoy good food and drink, and hear the family stories. Rather than a Juleboard, tonight we’ll enjoy the company of Hubby’s mom with Confit Duck Legs, Creamy Polenta with Parmesan, Wilted Spinach and Roast Sweet Potatoes.
