Ingredients
- 2 3/4 c pickling cucumbers – sliced into 1/2″ chunks
- 3/4 T salt
- 1/2 medium white onion – thinly sliced
- 1/2 c white vinegar
- 1/4 c cider vinegar
- 1/2 c granulated sugar
- 1/8 c brown sugar
- 3/4 t mustard seed per jar
- 1/4 t celery seed per jar
- 1/16 t turmeric powder per jar
Instructions
- Sprinkle the cucumbers and onions with salt and allow to sit for 45 minutes
- Rinse the cucumbers and onions – allow them to drain well
- Combine the vinegars and sugars in a saucepan and lightly boil until the sugars dissolve
- Pack the cucumbers and onions into jars, add the seeds and turmeric and cover with the hot pickling liquid.
- Process in a hot water bath for 15 minutes
